After a failed effort to get on the nerves of the Intercontinental champion, Gunther, Chad Gable, strategically shifted his focus to aid Sami Zayn in a bid to overcome Gunther. On Raw last week, the allies turned foes with Gable suddenly attacking Zayn after his unsuccessful effort to clinch the title from him. NBA legend Charles Barkley has seen it all and chimed in on the rivalry with a subtle threat to the former Raw tag team champion for his bad karma.

As a token of gratitude to Chad Gable for helping him defeat the Ring General, Sami Zayn gifted his partner a unique title opportunity on Monday Night RAW. The match involved a lot of dramatic exchanges of moves from both sides. After going back and forth for some minutes, Gable had to surrender to Zayn’s Helluva Kick. Nevertheless, at first, the WWE former tag team champion showed a rare display of sportsmanship. He honored their camaraderie by raising Zayn’s hand in triumph. But there was more to the twist.

Shortly after, when the champion and his wife celebrated the win ringside, the challenger vented out his venom by launching a vicious attack from behind, leaving the crowd blindsided. This culminated in Gable, eventually locking him in an ankle lock on the top turnbuckle. The segment has already garnered a lot of brickbats on social media. The renowned NBA figure added to that with his take on the matter on the Pat McAfee Show.

McAfee tried to reason for Gable’s action by suggesting “That’s a US Olympian though remember that he is a US Olympian much like you Chad Gable. Nevertheless, Barkley stuck to his guns and continued, “You can’t hey I know that but you can’t kick a man’s a** at his house man that’s bad karma” the Basketball icon legend expressed the reason behind his wrath.

While the betrayal seemed abrupt, it didn’t come out of the blue at all.

Despite Gable’s assistance to Sami Zayn to overcome the Gunther challenge, Zayn’s success deep down ate him up. The biggest reason behind that was the standstill of Gable’s own career. While The leader of Alpha Academy undoubtedly etched his name as a remarkable wrestler in the fold, lately his career has entered a lull. His success in the tag team division is a different story though having both brands’ titles to his name. However, when it comes to walking his own path, the WWE star failed to assert his supremacy to some extent. This frustration boiled over and he launched a seething attack on his trainee. Also, Alpha Academy wasn’t there to help him out in the ring. If they had shown up to ease him, the story could have been different.
