“I Grew Up Watching the Guy”: AEW Star Gives His Honest Opinion on Vince McMahon Following His WWE Retirement

The sudden departure of Vince McMahon, not only shocked the WWE fans but also the whole pro wrestling community. Mr. McMahon made the company the biggest pro wrestling promotion in his 40 years of work. But the allegations of misconduct against McMahon came as a piece of shocking news to the fans. Not only the WWE superstars but wrestlers from other promotions too described their thoughts on it.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman, also known as MJF, is currently a rising name in pro wrestling. MJF is signed with the new promotion AEW. In the past, the young wrestler mentioned his thoughts on jumping the ships from AEW to WWE before the retirement of McMahon. Now in the MMA Hour podcast, MJF expressed his thoughts on Vince McMahon’s retirement.

MJF said, “He has left a gigantic legacy in the history of the business. There is a lot of stuff that’s came out. We don’t know what’s real, we don’t know what’s fake. I think it’s still all under investigation, rumor, and innuendo. But, I can say yes, yeah, I grew up watching the guy. I thought he was tremendously talented.”

Like many other young wrestlers, MJF also grew up watching Vince McMahon running the biggest promotion in the world. The three-time Dynamite Diamond Ring winner praised McMahon for being extremely talented.

MJF also described his thoughts on the monopoly of WWE. “I think it’s better and it’s really good and I think our product is also better. You don’t want a monopoly in professional wrestling. You want a place so I can do what I’m doing which is allow myself to get the best possible deal. If you love professional wrestling, then you want All Elite Wrestling to succeed.”

MJF took a dig at WWE by declaring his promotion as the best. Although, MJF mentioned previously that he might switch to WWE if they offer him the right money. The Two Year Vet’s contract with AEW will end in January 2024.
