Being John Cena is challenging. The man has dedicated 20+ years to the wrestling world while having a successful movie career. With over 2000 matches under his belt, the 13-time WWE champion has never taken time for himself. But now, with a wife and successful Hollywood career, Cena is cashing in on that well-deserved time off.

‘Super Cena,’ as the community calls him, is a workhorse for the WWE. During the two decades he spent in the squared circle, he went from an unknown wrestler with weird hair to a ‘Doctor of Thuganomics’ to the Face of the company. During this time, he found love, heartbreak, and marriage.

Currently, Hollywood is facing a writer’s strike that halted multiple projects for the foreseeable future. This strike is due to the demand for more compensation by the writers. With projects on hold, Cena took time out to stroll around Italy with his wife, Shay Shariatzadeh. Cena and his wife were in Rome for the Fast X premiere back in May.

Cena met his now-wife in the movie Playing with Fire, set in 2019 in Vancouver. Shariatzadeh is an engineer who works as a project manager. The two tied the knot at a private ceremony in October 2020. The two met a year after Cena split from WWE Diva Nikki Bella. Cena’s previous relationship lasted for six years before it reached its end.

Cena has had quite the year in 2023, appearing in movies like Fast and Furious X, Barbie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and Hidden Strike. He has succeeded since starting his acting career in 2006’s The Marine. Like fellow actors Dwayne Johnson and Dave Bautista, he sticks to comedy and action roles.

Despite his hectic schedule in Hollywood, a prospective return to WWE could be on the cards for Cena.

Cena’s potential blockbuster return to the WWE

According to the rumors, John Cena is scheduled to make a blockbuster return to the squared circle in 2023 at SummerSlam. The 36th SummerSlam will take place in August at Ford Field in Detroit. Rumor has it that Cena could go up against Logan Paul. The breadcrumbs have already been laid out, with Cena making a surprise entrance at Money in the Bank this year on July 1.

No one knows what WWE has in mind for Big Match John, but if he were to return, SummerSlam is the best place for it to happen with Logan making a name for himself in the WWE, and who better to put Logan over than Cena? The match could have happened at WrestleMania 39, but due to unknown reasons, it was removed. Only time will tell whether this match will be on the cards.
