Atlanta Hawks’ Trae Young Announces WWE to Hold New Pay-Per-View on New Years Day 2022

Live crowds are finally back in attendance for WWE. Since the return, a new fire has been lit inside the promotion as they are doing it all to give fans a fresh and enjoyable product. Last night, we saw the company make history having two matches of WWE SmackDown at Rolling Loud Miami 2021.
While the crossover was unique and fun to watch, that’s not all WWE has in store for us. No, we’re not talking about the Queen of the Ring tournament. Vince McMahon’s promotion has a new pay-per-view in store for the fans. And guess what? It’ll be on New Year’s Day!

WWE is all set to kick-off 2022 with an exciting new Pay-Per-View
Following a successful title defense against Carmella at Rolling Loud Miami 2021, Bianca Belair introduced Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks via satellite. Young thanked Bianca for the introduction, and revealed he’s there to make a special announcement.
‘Ice Trae’ announced, “For the first time ever, WWE will host a pay-per-view in Atlanta on New Year’s Day. I don’t know about you, but I think New Year’s Trae for the event, and I can’t think of a better way to bring in 2022 than with you, the WWE Universe.”

This will be the first time WWE has held a PPV on New Years Day. It is a historic feat and with Trae Young of the Hawks making the announcement, we feel he could very well be the host of the yet unnamed PPV.

The New Years Day pay-per-view will call the State Farm Arena in Atlanta it’s home on Saturday, 1st January. The show will start at 8 PM ET, with the Kick-off showing commencing at 7 PM ET.
WWE has advertised all their current champions and other top stars for the show. As of now, Vince McMahon and his team haven’t come with a Pay-per-view name it seems. But, with New Year still being about five months away, we expect the name to be announced in a couple of months.
