Bad Blood No More: Mickie James Returns to WWE Despite Being Signed to Impact Wrestling

One of the most exciting PPVs, WWE Royal Rumble 2022, is just around the corner. And, WWE has not one but plenty of surprises for the WWE universe. Former WWE Divas Champions and WWE legends, including Mickie James, will return to action in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match in 2022.

The inclusion of Mickie James in the WWE Royal Rumble 2022 came in as an enormous shock for everyone. This is because Mickie James is currently signed to National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and Impact Wrestling.

Not only is she competing in Impact Wrestling, but she is also the current Impact Knockouts Champion.

WWE opened the Forbidden Door after including Mickie James in the Women’s Royal Rumble match by announcing her as the Impact Knockouts Champion.

The Forbidden Door is basically a term that refers to promotions working together and sharing talents across the promotions.

The current Executive Vice President of Impact Wrestling, Scott D’Amore, took to Twitter to congratulate Mickie James and WWE for walking through the forbidden door.

Well, Mickie is not the only WWE legend that will return to WWE in 2022. Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly, and Lita will also make their return at the 2022 Royal Rumble PPV.

Rhea Ripley, Nikki A.S.H, Shotzi Blackheart, Natalya, Dana Brooke, Carmella, Queen Zelina, Tamina, Aliyah, Summer Rae, Naomi, Shayna Baszler are other superstars who were announced for the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Can Mickie James win the Royal Rumble 2022?

The WWE Women’s Royal Rumble Match is looking very promising after tonight’s announcement. By looking at the list of participants, you can certainly agree that there is a lot of experience among the names.

Not only is there experience, but there is also the youth who will try to make an impact. Thus, Mickie James will have a tough task at hand if she is to win the Royal Rumble match. Previously, the WWE legend entered the Women’s Royal Rumble match thrice. But, she is yet to win one.

In 2018, James entered at No.26 but got eliminated by Trish Stratus. Again in 2019, James entered the Women’s Royal Rumble match at No.5. But she got eliminated by Tamina on that night after lasting over 11 minutes. Also, during the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble match, Lacey Evans eliminated James.

But during her tenure in WWE, Mickie James proved herself repeatedly. Mickie won the WWE Women’s Championship five times and WWE Divas Championship once. But she is yet to win a Royal Rumble match.
