WWE superstar Natalya had the perfect stage to ring in her 41st birthday as it collided with her match at Night of Champions. However, Rhea Ripley played the party-pooper to deny the former WWE Divas Champion her glory, but not before Natalya managed to bring smiles to the faces of some of her fans.

Rhea Ripley left Natalya embarrassed at the Jeddah Super Dome

WWE female superstars have a lot to thank Natalya for. Alongside Lacey Evans, Natalya pioneered female pro-wrestling in Saudi Arabia, during their match at the 2019 Crown Jewel PLE. While Natalya won that encounter, this time it was a different outcome and one that the 41-year-old would like to erase from her memory.

There was little doubt that Rhea Ripley was going to dominate proceedings, but the sheer magnitude of it wasn’t expected. Ripley wasted little time to launch the attack and made light work of her opponent. In the end, the match finished rather quickly with Ripley retaining her title.

Natalya, however, made some of her fans happy on her way to the ring. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion gifted her sunglass to a young fan and then took a couple of selfies with others. Surely, this would make the day for them, although what followed spoiled her evening.

Meanwhile, a few days prior to her match, Natalya had said Ripley would leave the ring with a change of heart.

Natalya fails to deliver her vow

On May 23, the 41-year-old posted a video on Twitter, where she addressed the comparisons between herself and Rhea Ripley. The former Divas Champions said she was aware of the odds and made a shocking statement. “Rhea can mock me, she can beat me up and she might even beat me,” she said, matching the sentiments prior to the match.

However, the Canadian wrestler said the Australian would leave the ring with a changed perception. “…at Night of Champions, I can assure you she is going to respect me. She’s gonna respect me,” Natalya said.

Going by how quickly the match ended and the reactions from Ripley there after, one can assume that she did not have a changed perception of her opponent. If anything at all, such a quick squash of a former champion will only bolster Ripley’s confidence and arrogance. Still, fans would wait for future matches to get a better understanding of Ripley’s feelings.
