Luke Disangro’s story was featured in the third episode of a show called ‘Monster Factory’. The show focuses on budding wrestlers fighting their way into the industry. Disangro’s story could be deemed emotional as he explains how a pro wrestling star saved his life.

It all started with the young wrestler getting picked on at his school for being different. He also stopped watching wrestling on TV because he “didn’t wanna give them another reason” to bully him.

His headspace forced him to take serious actions against himself. The high school version of Disangro decided that he would bear no more. “Now the plan that night was before I went to bed I was gonna kinda swallow everything in my pill cabinet and pray to God I didn’t wake up the next morning,” recalled Disangro. While he was watching something on TV ‘one last time’, Monday Night Raw was being telecasted. He thought to himself, “Well they’re not gonna judge me for it now” and stuck to the episode.

Although he doesn’t remember the full episode, ‘Twitch’ vividly remembers the main event of the night as it was John Cena vs R Truth. However, later in that match, CM Punk also arrived for a promo. He attacked Cena out of the blue, executing his infamous ‘Pipebomb’ promo.

In the promo, CM Punk talked about he has been fed up with not being treated the right way. ‘Twitch’ resonated with the wrestling superstar’s words and discovered an alternate route to his situation.

I didn’t just look at it as a wrestling promo ’cause it also saved my life. CM Punk was a guy that was just fed up with how he was being treated. And instead of just quitting, he spoke his mind. He did it while being unapologetically him. And at that time point, I knew that if I had the chance, I was gonna try and be a professional wrestler,” Luke said while recalling the night. Just like that, with the help of a wrestling promo, Lucas was able to pull himself out of a dark moment in his life gradually. And on the same night, his urge to originate the ‘Twitch’ also came into existence.

It’s not yet confirmed whether CM Punk knows about this story. However, he would surely be proud of the job he did unwittingly during that promo. It is amazing to note for all the negativity pro wrestling garners sometimes, it can have a life-altering effect or in this case a life saving one in someone’s life.
