Charlotte Flair Has Her Costume Designer to Blame for SummerSlam Streak Coming to an End

SummerSlam has been one of the best PLE’s for WWE in recent years. It had a staggering attendance of 59,194 at Fort Field in Detroit, Michigan. Simultaneously it was also the highest-grossing PLE to date outside of WrestleMania. Fans too got their money’s worth with adrenaline-pumping matches that kept them on the edge of their seats. Jimmy Uso attacking his brother Jey and costing him the title was obviously the biggest shock of the night.

But there was another shock for one superstar and luckily, she noticed it in time and got it corrected. We are talking about the unfortunate wardrobe malfunction Charlotte Flair had during the Triple Threat Match for the WWE Women’s Championship. And some fans feel that malfunction cost her the title.

The stage was set for 3 of the best female wrestlers in WWE to battle it out to be the new WWE Women’s Champion. Also, Flair entered SummerSlam with her 5-0 unbeaten streak and she hoped to make it 6-0 that night. Hence, Flair left no stone unturned to win the title. While Asuka and Bianca Belair were only making things difficult for the ‘The Queen’.

But later, when Charlotte Flair was gaining an upper hand in the match, she suffered a wardrobe malfunction while performing a move. Luckily, she noticed it in time and went straight to the referee to get it fixed.

That gave enough time for Asuka and Belair to pick themselves up and later turn the tide for Flair. One fan got furious and took to Twitter to vent her frustration. She tweeted, “Hey Charlotte stop wearing gear that’s going to break during the match. I swear she had the most wardrobe malfunctions”.

But this is also not the first time that a wrestler has had a wardrobe malfunction in the ring.

Wardrobe malfunctions are the most embarrassing for performers when in front of a large audience. Take it from big stars like Beyonce and Taylor Swift and they will agree that it’s not a very pleasant experience.

But just like singers, our very own WWE superstars have also had such embarrassing moments in the past. Who can forget Edge and Lita’s infamous ‘Sex Celebration’ in the ring on RAW. While the two were sharing an intimate moment in front of a capacity crowd, Lita had a quick slip that left her mortified. Even the boss’s daughter Stephanie Mcmahon had her own awkward moment once and the guilty party was her very own husband, Triple H.

He was about to give her a pedigree when the malfunction happened. And lastly, it’s not just the female wrestlers, but male wrestlers too who have suffered the embarrassment on live tv. This was a ladder match at WrestleMania 10 between Scott Hall and Shawn Michaels. They both were going up the ladder and Hall pulled Michaels’s tights too hard to expose his backside to the whole crowd. Such are the uncomfortable moments that a few wrestlers have had to undergo in their careers.
