Dave Bautista Throws Shade at CM Punk Along With Sharing His Love

WWE posted a clip of CM Punk on Instagram on December 5th as they try to build a connection between Punk and an NXT superstar. In the video, Punk was seen signing autographs when a teenage Cora Jade met him and cried. Punk later comforts her by hugging her.
Cora Jade is one of NXT’s top performers in the women’s division and the love interest of Bron Breakker. Hence, WWE included the post as Punk has returned to WWE recently. However, it is the shady comment from Dave Bautista on the post that has made the post more interesting.

WWE posted a small clip on Instagram with the caption, “When future @wwenxt Superstar @corajadewwe met her childhood hero @cmpunk🎥: @ufc.” The caption was a reference to NXT superstar Cora Jade’s backstage interaction with Punk. Punk could be heard responding by saying, “I don’t like it when Women cry.”

Dave Bautista immediately responded within an hour of the post with a snarky comment. He commented, “I cried the first 10 times I met Punk as well. Totally get it! Love this. 🙌🏽” His comment was sarcasm towards WWE and CM Punk as Cora Jade was seen crying in the clip.

Cora Jade cried as a fan would usually do after meeting someone special. But Dave Bautista’s statement about crying was a ruse for fun. It is a reference to his backstage moments with Punk when he would often refer to Punk as ‘Sir‘ for fun. In one video on Social Media, Batista was seen serving food to Punk.
It was also sarcasm towards the response Jade made upon seeing Punk and WWE’s caption while exaggerating the moment. Batista’s fans know how straightforward he is with his responses. Hence, it is not something new from The Animal.
The two superstars share great camaraderie as they fought each other many times during their WWE stint. Batista has also praised Punk for his acting skills.

Dave Bautista applauds CM Punk’s acting skills
On August 17th, 2021, Dave Bautista heaped praise on CM Punk’s acting skills through X. He tweeted, “I already knew this. And the talent is obvious. He’s going to be bigger in films than he was in wrestling. Save this tweet.”
Former WWE Champion’s tweet was in response to CM Punk’s role in the series Heels where he appeared as Ricky Rabies. In an interview with Kristian Harloff, he revealed that he tries to follow in the footsteps of his friend, Dave Bautista as far as his acting career is concerned. Hence, the above-mentioned comment by Bautista can be considered as a friendly banter.
