The WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair suffered a major health scare in 2017. It not only worried his massive fan circle but his family as well. Charlotte Flair who was still in the process of achieving greatness in WWE was naturally concerned for her father’s well-being as well. She recently described how she coped with the 16-time world champion’s condition back then.

The Queen has won almost all the accolades on the professional front. But revealed how she dealt with the tragedy that marred her personal life during an important phase in her career.

Charlotte Flair opens up on Ric Flair’s health issues back in 2017

Flair was the subject of an episode of the A&E show Biography: WWE Legends. Therein, she opened up on the circumstances around her father’s serious medical issue and how she managed to get through the tough times.

The SmackDown women’s champion said, “When, you know the nurses were explaining to me, my sister and my brother you know that my dad might not make it. I could not like mentally wrap my mind around that like there was a chance he wouldn’t make it”.

“Like I just I couldn’t process that. They gave us like all an opportunity to say goodbye to him, and I didn’t even really like say anything. Like I just wasn’t gonna take goodbye as an answer. I compartmentalize by just throwing every ounce of energy I had into work.” added Flair.

The Nature Boy faced complications from a bowel blockage and had to be put in a medically induced coma for 11 days. He was in the hospital for a full month before getting discharged. It was undoubtedly a tough time for his daughter as she was trying to make her name in the business.

And admittedly Flair was shaken by her legendary father’s health issues. But she did not let it affect her career growth and continued on. However, it wasn’t to be the end of Flair’s medical issues. As he would be back in the hospital in 2019.

Speculations were rife back then that Flair had been rushed to receive medical care. A planned procedure had to be delayed due to unforeseen complications regarding his health. Regardless, Flair bounced back from his issues and remarkably made a quick recovery.

This news would have provided massive relief to the fans of ‘The Dirtiest Player of The Game’. It’s a testament to Charlotte Flair’s perseverance that she overcame her personal struggles to be the performer she is today. The Grand Slam champion is the most successful female superstar in WrestleMania history.

It wouldn’t have been easy to focus on her career with the massive threat around Ric Flair’s health in 2017. She was led of her own will and perseverance to the very top of the business.
