Cody Rhodes‘ loss in WrestleMania 39 was one of the biggest shockers in the wrestling world. Even after months passed, WWE fanatics tend to look back at that booking and try to reason it in their own way.

The American Nightmare, winning the Undefeated Championship belt, was almost a guarantee. But WWE pulled their unpredictable card and turned the outcome upside down. Given that Reigns received a herculean effort from The Bloodline to pick up the win, Rhodes’ fans opposed the result to the core. Not only fans, but even a lot of industry insiders, believe WWE creative actually upset fans with their bizarre decision to sideline Cody from the title picture. WWE legend Mark Henry also joined the list, although he tried to justify the decision with a different perspective.

WWE always keeps the suspense game on and that is the prime selling point of the matches. Fans try to match pace with the company’s long-term vision behind any action or decision. They often can’t succeed. That said, WWE itself doesn’t always celebrate its decision later on. According to veteran Mark Henry, the company regrets many of its bookings and storylines. He referred to the most talked about Rhodes’ WrestleMania loss to justify his point. However, at the same time, Henry believes the company always has certain reasons and perspectives on its actions. They somehow found it fit may be.

During a recent appearance on the Busted Open podcast, Henry, 52, noted, ”There have been many more cases that they regret. But whatever they did, they did it for the reasons that they saw fit. And at the end of the day, it’s their company and they get to do and choose what they want. ”

Speaking of Cody’s current dynamic inside the promotion, the 37-year-old is currently heading closer to London for WWE’s next premium live event, Money in the Bank.

What is next for Cody Rhodes in WWE?

Cody Rhodes’ storyline with Brock Lesnar is yet to finish with the former AEW star demanding a third match against Lesnar. After two intense clashes back to back, a SummerSlam match seems to be on the card next. But prior to this, Rhodes aims to get his money in the Bank match right.

Last night Monday night Raw Cody came face to face with Dominik Mysterio, and Rhea Ripley as a follow-up to the previous week’s happenings. After going back and forth for some time, Cody challenged Dominik to a match at the upcoming Money in the Bank. And guess what, Mami readily accepted the challenge on behalf of DomDom.

Now, we need to see how things unfold for Cody further and how WWE wants to pull the curtain gradually.
