Ric Flair was acquainted with many popular wrestlers in his long withstanding career as a professional wrestler. However, ‘The Nature Boy’ could only pick one name to stand alongside WWE legend John Cena to be the most charitable, it could only be Hulk Hogan. The Hulkster had a fearsome presence in the ring but saw a true purpose in giving back to society.

The 16-time world champion fell short of words to describe his old friend’s work with the Make-A-Wish foundation. Unfortunately, Hogan’s reputation took a bad hit due to some controversies. But fans still have fond memories of his time inside the ring.

Ric Flair considers Hulk Hogan as the most charitable wrestler, alongside John Cena. In a recent episode of ‘ASK RIC ANYTHING VIII’, a fan asked ‘The Nature boy’ “besides Cena, what wrestlers did the most for charities?”. It is common knowledge among all wrestling enthusiasts that John Cena is very charitable. So much so, that Cena holds the record for fulfilling the most number of wishes for the Make-A-Wish foundation.

But, Flair considered Hogan’s contribution in the 90s to be an equally impressive feat. He said, “Hulk was doing Make-a-Wish, back in the… I don’t know whenever it started. But, I can remember in the 90s Hulk would do a Make-a-Wish every night. Every Arena, Everywhere.”

Therefore, despite his controversial stances as of late, Hogan stood tall as a beam of hope in the WWE world to spread positivity.

Hulk Hogan’s controversial comments took a toll on his image

Recently, Dwayne Johnson addressed a Hulk Hogan controversy from 2015. The Rock felt Hogan was paying the price for his words as a form of karma, later in his career. As the 69-year-old faced a huge backlash after a clip of him using racial slurs did rounds on the internet.

The ‘Black Adam’ actor was disappointed to learn of the news and said, “I’ve known [Hulk Hogan] for a lot of years. My dad helped him train in Florida in the ’70s when he was breaking into the business. My uncles helped him train as well. So I’d not known him to be racist.”

The Rock added, “I’m not justifying what he said- but we’ve all talked trash. Especially in private. He said what he said and now he’s paying the price.”

Therefore, despite Hogan’s glittering career in the ring, his stardom took a dip because of such unfortunate incidents. Nevertheless, his exceptional charity work gave a lot back to society.
