And a recent clip is recently going viral on the web which has shocked many fans. The incident bears eerie similarities to the tragic fall of the WWE legend Owen Hart in 1999, which led to his unfortunate demise.

This recent instance is from a match between Molly Spartan and Rhio in the Insane Championship Wrestling. The latter took a hefty fall from a fan stand onto the ring. To make matters worse, the performer’s head hit the ring apron during the fall. This led those watching the encounter live to fear the worst.

Thankfully, the wrestler in question, Rhio, came unscathed from the dangerous spot. She confirmed it in a Twitter post later. Surprisingly she even completed the match and ended up winning the encounter. And with it the ICW women’s championship.

Similarity to the tragic Owen Hart fall

The watching crowd and the Internet users could not help but connect the ordeal endured by the wrestler to the Owen Hart incident. Hart, who was the younger brother of the iconic Bret Hart, was making his entry to the ring with a harness in the Over The Edge PPV of 1999.

He was scheduled to face The Godfather. When he endured a tragic fall from a height of 24 meters that led to his untimely death. The loss of his life pained his peers very dearly. The stills of the incident still send chills down the spines of many wrestling fans. 

Fans would be relieved that such a calamity did not befall the recent match. Rhio, fell from a considerable height and she should consider herself very fortunate to not suffer a serious injury.

Molly Spartan, on the other hand, would also be breathing a sigh of relief on her opponent coming out of the incident. Both wrestlers would be exercising extreme caution in the future.
