However, producer Jerry Bruckheimer has something else in mind as he expressed the wish to see Johnny Depp don the role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the sixth installment of the series. On Oscar’s red carpet, media personnel posed the question about the possibility of Depp’s return to the franchise. The co-producer of the Top Gun Maverick noted, ”We’ll see. I would love to have him in the movie. That’s all I can tell you now.”

It clearly shut down Johnson’s chance to work in his dream series. However, the $800 million Hollywood Hunk’s skyrocketing demand in the industry should remain unquestionable, regardless.

While Black Adam flopped at the box office, DJ landed a handsome salary, which went up to $22.5 million. A studio executive of the set once noted that ”Most actors aren’t worth what you pay them, but [Tom] Cruise and maybe Dwayne Johnson justify their salaries.”

Although the movie was financially rewarding for Johnson, the movie incurred giant losses for the studio. The failure of the superhero movie initiated an overhaul at DC Studios. Popular director James Gunn and established producer Peter Safran took up the mantle of the studio. The Rock can rest assured about his caliber and prestige as an actor with various projects lined up for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately, he will have to make do without being involved in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise
