Something like this has happened with McMahon countless times during his tenure as the CEO of WWE.

But what could have been the reason that McMahon let this WWE Hall of Famer go? Recently on an episode of Something to Wrestle, a former WWE employee spilled the beans about this legend’s exit from the company.

Why did the Hall of Famer leave WWE?

While talking about the legendary manager and commentator, Bobby Heenan, former WWE executive, Bruce Prichard talked about his exit from the company. While Prichard understood the reason for Heenan’s leave, he mentioned he was hurt because one of his closest friends was leaving. But his reason for the exit will shock you as it’s a basic right of any employee now.

He said, “I understand why Bobby left because he needed insurance. And Bobby wanted insurance and as an employee, for TBS, and for Turner and working for them, he would be afforded insurance because he wasn’t taking bumps and he wouldn’t be an independent contractor, he would have been an employee.

Going back in time, Heenan was one of the biggest managers in history. He introduced Andre the Giant, King Kong Bundy, Mr. Perfect, Rick Rude, Harley Race, and so many more to the WWE audience. While he was a great wrestler in AWA during the ’70s, his star shone brighter, being on the ringside for many WrestleManias as well.

Losing someone as precious as Heenan was a big blow to McMahon. While Heenan was going to be a replacement at the commentator table, he became the main commentator in WCW. Add to that the historic feud between the nWo and Sting, Goldberg, and everyone on the main roster, WCW was the hot product in pro wrestling.
