The WWE Universe is all hyped for the 40th anniversary of WWE’s biggest edition of its biggest annual PLE, WrestleMania XL. The fans highly anticipate everything from the stacked card, including the mid-card bouts to the main events on both nights. However, a small glance at the venue doesn’t seem to have pleased a lot of people, including hip-hop legend Ice Cube’s son.

WWE has a reputation for hosting some of the pro wrestling world’s biggest and best-ever PLEs. The recent Elimination Chamber PLE held in Melbourne, Australia, vividly showcased this. Notably, WrestleMania events showcase the grandest efforts of WWE in order to match the reputation of the Grandest Show of Them All. This year’s preparations for WrestleMania XL, however, seem to have left a foul taste in Ice Cube’s son’s mouth.

O’Shea Jackson Jr. is a great pro wrestling and WWE fanatic. However, he also possesses the razor-sharp words and wit of his hip-hop megastar father. WWE recently released the first look of the grand stage it set up for WrestleMania XL. WrestleOps tweeted the video clip of the spectacle on X which came in Jackson Jr’s notice, who immediately shot it down. O’Shea Jackson Jr tweeted, “40 years for this? LA won.”

His remark took shots at the appearance of the Philadelphia stage which seemed very lackluster to him. He also said that the previous iteration of WrestleMania held in Los Angeles was far better than WrestleMania XL. The video clip of the WrestleMania XL stage reveal was presented by WWE 2K24 and an amazing display of fireworks preceded the lighting up of the entrance area. But, this didn’t seem to make the cut for O’Shea Jackson Jr.

The comments section of the tweet saw several WWE fans agreeing with Ice Cube’s son. Many fans even shared glimpses of the WrestleMania 39 preparations in Los Angeles. This was not the first time that Ice Cube’s son voiced his opinions

However, almost the same number of respondents also said that they liked the setting of the WrestleMania XL stage. In fact, several fans also pitched in the reasons as to why the LA and Philly editions have such a big difference.

Why is the stage of Philadelphia not as bright and grand as that of LA?

The comment made by Ice Cube’s son had everyone in the WWE Universe concerned and they naturally wanted an answer. One fan shared a screenshot from a YouTube comments section that featured a comment from the official YouTube channel of Coast2Coast Designs. The company specializes in setting up premium pro wrestling live events and is a big authority in this domain.

The comment said, “We heard from a source in WWE that several million dollars were cut from the WrestleMania production budget by the new leadership. Due to this, the design was only finalized this month. It’s usually finalized many months in advance.” This could possibly explain why the WrestleMania XL stage seemed to incorporate the necessary elements and not the luxury ones. However, another fan came up with a theory that portrayed WWE in a good light.

The fan noted that Philadelphia has been experiencing a lot of rain. WrestleMania XL will be conducted in an open-air space, so the stage needs to take care of the downpour. Even the weather forecast confirms a possibility of rain.
