WWE has created several new ways of providing pro wrestling entertainment to its fans. While legends like Dusty Rhodes gave birth to The Survivor Series, Eric Bischoff created the concept of The Elimination Chamber. It has also improved several aspects under the creative leadership of Triple H. Interestingly, Tony Khan’s AEW recently created a new pro wrestling theme of its own that became a big hit with its audience.

Speed pro wrestling looks like a blitz chess match with the superstars in the ring, constantly throwing power moves and reversals. Notably, this attracted the attention of Triple H who came out with his own version of the mode, giving birth to WWE Speed. The newest pro wrestling theme is quite a lot of gaining traction with the WWE Universe. In fact, megastar Ice Cube’s son also made an interesting comment on the new development.

WWE Speed first tested the waters with its fanbase by running a pilot show of the new mode in December 2023. Moving forward with a positive reaction, Triple H and his team recently announced the WWE Speed Tournament. Making its entry into the WWE mainstream just a week before WrestleMania XL, the news surprised the pro wrestling realm. WrestleOps recently tweeted a clip of the first match in the new tournament where Ricochet defeated Dragon Lee on X. Commenting on what he thought Triple H was thinking, Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr wrote, “Lol once again. Hunter saw AEW and said: “Oh they want fast-paced wrestling huh? They like reversals and no selling huh? Go out there and do that s**t they like”

This clearly showcased his stance on which pro wrestling company did it better. Pro wrestling companies keep competing with each other every single day. Not every new gimmick is an original one. However, if the copy turns out to be an enhanced version, the imitating company wins the fans of the original.

The opposite happens if the imitation fails and fans flock to the original. However, Ice Cube’s son’s comment clearly says that Triple H won this battle. Several other pro wrestling fans agreed with O’Shea Jackson Jr and highlighted how the WWE head honcho did things in a better way. But, not everyone is on board with WWE Speed. In fact, a superstar from WWE’s own locker room has some criticism about the latest pro wrestling theme.

WWE female star highlights a major issue with WWE Speed

The WWE Speed mode is a brand new concept in the pro wrestling company. However, while Triple H and his team have been doing a great job with everything, he faced criticism from WWE superstar, Piper Niven. She said that the creative head did a good job with the new mode, but she expressed her disappointment to learn that it was exclusively for men.

Speaking on behalf of the WWE Women’s locker room, Piper Niven said that the ladies want in on WWE Speed as well. Triple H has been greatly admired for his improvements in the women’s division. His involvement has led to the division getting a lot of spotlight than before and several main events PLEs now feature women.
