Not really. Rock was planned for Lesnar the next year but after his injuries, the movie studios did not want him wrestling again,” replied Dave. Although a third match with his past rival John Cena would have been incredible as well, seeing Johnson go up against the beastly Brock Lesnar is all that the fans would have wanted.

The two giants would have made up for a great wrestling bout. The Undertaker‘s 21-win streak could also have been maintained if the fight had taken place. Just because The Rock had to cancel the match due to his injuries and Hollywood commitments, Lesnar and The Phenom ended up facing each other with the Beast defeating Taker at WrestleMania 30.

Dwayne Johnson’s cancelation makes much more sense

After Johnson suffered from a few injuries that fans know little about, the movie studios didn’t want him to wrestle again. Considering the reputed career he has built for himself through Hollywood, he had to turn down any upcoming matches proposed to him at that time.

Although the event had a lot of amazing matches that night, The Rock’s presence would’ve only added to the star power. WWE faced a similar situation regarding The Rock for this year’s upcoming WrestleMania and had to make a lot of last moment changes.
