Hulk Hogan was an icon in pro wrestling during the 1980s. WWE presented him as a role model for the kids during his rise to the top. He was also loved by the children because of his ‘Eat your vitamins and say your prayers’ shtick. Many fondly remember Hogan as a childhood hero.

As WWE’s top babyface, Hogan was the ambassador of goodwill when it came to pro wrestling. Despite various allegations of backstage politics and using influence, Hogan’s behavior towards his fans was never questioned.

In 2014, while on a tour with the WWE to the United Kingdom, Hulk Hogan, accompanied by Stephanie McMahon, sat down for an interview with British publication ‘The Mirror’.

Hogan talked about his memories in the UK while he used to be an active wrestler. ‘The Immortal One’ then revealed a heart-wrenching incident from his time in the UK involving a fan.

He said, “… one that really stuck out with me was at Wembley Stadium.[…]We had some make-a-wish kids come and the young man was in tough shape and then I had an idea where he would be sitting at ringside. After the match, I was asking Jimmy Hart and Mr. McMahon where the young man was and he passed away before the matches.”

The former WWE Champion informed that he was so moved by the death of this fan that he wrote a song dedicated to him.

Hogan stated, “So that night I sat up with Jimmy and we wrote almost 12 odd songs… They were very quick and brief, but it was and we wrote a song called the Hulkamaniac in heaven.”

“And as crazy as that sounds, it was all centered around that one fan that came with the Make-A-Wish Foundation that didn’t quite make to the matches. That’s the one that sticks out that’s… That really walked in my brain that that night.”

This story really touched Stephanie McMahon, who was sitting with Hogan. She said WWE’s mission is to make people happy. She adds that it is remarkable the relations WWE Superstars have with the kids and their families all over the world.

Hogan deserves praise for his gesture

Hogan has received flak for a lot of things over the years. But this one gesture of his is truly amazing. Hogan’s actions that night show how much he values his fans and the bond he shares with them.

However, that’s not it. He has also been into charity and used his influence well.
