Jerry Lawler was last seen on WWE programming earlier during The Royal Rumble. He was a part of the kick-off panel discussion. It was after that that he suffered from a stroke and was hospitalized. It’s also worth noting that Lawler made an appearance in the pre-tape of the WWE Hall of Fame 2023 induction for Andy Kaufman. The video was shot from Lawler’s home.

During an edition of the Story Time podcast, wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell provided a concerning update on Jerry Lawler’s health condition. According to Mantell, the Hall of Famer is not showing improvements in his health. While noting that Lawler’s recent stroke almost took his life, Mantell stated that he was momentarily doing ok. However, The King hasn’t recovered as much as one would hope.

He said, “He has trouble finishing sentences. I mean, he talks well. His voice has changed somewhat. He talks, but when he gets to the end of the sentence, he starts searching for words to end the sentence and he gets frustrated.”

Furthermore, Mantell relayed that Jerry Lawler is having problems with his right hand. As a result, it’s keeping him from doing his artwork. He added, “He’s an artist, but he’s having trouble with his right hand. I think he had it on, strokes are odd, on the left side of the body. It affects the other side, so I think he had it on his left side. He’s right-handed. He has trouble now doing his art.”

It was previously reported that Jerry Lawler has suffered a paralysis before he suffered the stroke. Lawler’s absence at WrestleMania was a poignant reminder of his deteriorating health.

At this point, it remains to be seen if Jerry Lawler makes a full recovery and makes his return to WWE TV soon.

Looking back at when Jerry Lawler had a health scare during an edition of Raw

In 2012, during an edition of Monday Night Raw, Jerry Lawler teamed up with Randy Orton and competed against Dolph Ziggler and CM Punk. At the time, Lawler was a full-time commentator but wrestled occasionally.

After winning the match with his partner, Randy Orton, Lawler went back to commentary and joined Michael Cole. As the next match took place, Lawler went to sleep while on commentary. The sound of his snoring was clearly audible on TV.

The next moment, the officials and the medical team rushed to Lawler’s aid and had him transported to the nearest hospital. Fortunately, Lawler made a full recovery and returned to WWE TV. However, his heart problems did not relent.
