Delving into The Rock‘s recent WWE return, one wrestling legend shed light on the true motivation behind it. On his podcast ‘1 of a Kind’, WWE Hall of Famer, Rob Van Dam, emphasized that Dwayne Johnson was returning not out of necessity but intricately tied to family and support for a significant other wrestler.

According to Rob Van Dam, “The Bloodline is or has taken over, and The Rock’s coming to support that.” Dam added, “That’s why he’s coming back. He’s not coming back because he misses wrestling. He’s not coming back because he needs to get in the ring again, really bad. Making all that money, doing movies, has [been] wearing him out, and he needs to get in the ring and bang his elbows and knees or anything like that.”

He also said, “He’s coming to support his family and to pay it forward with The Bloodline by drawing attention, money, and everything that comes with that.” As per him, it is rather than personal wrestling nostalgia or financial necessity.

Dam suggested that Johnson is coming back to aid his family and contribute to The Bloodline’s success in WWE further. Possibly boosting viewership, leading to more gain for The Bloodline members.

Despite Johnson’s recent revelation of a WrestleMania 39 opportunity against Roman Reigns, plans for the match fell through.

WrestleMania 40 is now speculated as the stage for the dream bout, although the Australian government has pitched for Johnson to appear at February’s Elimination Chamber in Perth, possibly setting the stage for a clash with Reigns.
