The great ones make it look easy. Hulk Hogan proved this old saying true with his latest promo on Facebook Watch. The Hulkster is a big fan of karaoke, and videos of him singing with his friends and family often go viral on social media. Hogan also loves hyping his karaoke parties on his social media and often does it spectacularly.
The Hulkster’s promo on Facebook was filled with a feeling of nostalgia. The 68-year-old, who cut the promo in classic Hulk Hogan fashion with energy and style of the attitude era, displayed that age is just a number.

It reminded fans of how incredible the era truly was for WWE and pro wrestling. Back in the late 1990s, when the Monday Night War was at its peak, stars became legends with the help of some great promos. Names like The Rock transcended WWE because of their excellent work in it.
When one thinks of the attitude era, especially about legendary promos, the one promo that sticks out was the powerful ‘Austin 3:16’ promo. Stone Cold Steve Austin launched his career into a different stratosphere with that promo.
It was perhaps the stakes involved in making an excellent product that led to such passion. Writers and wrestlers alike showed this passion as only good content could help them win the Monday Night Wars over WCW.
The Hulk Hogan energy is missing in promos in today’s WWE
AEW is the WWE’s main competitor, but when it comes to the reach of the business, WWE cannot be defeated. It has a very strong global presence, unlike any other promotion. That being so, WWE seeing AEW as long-term competition is doubtful. So perhaps the drive to always serve the superior product is missing in today’s WWE.
Several WWE Superstars Are Feeling “Discouraged and Disappointed” in the Company
This might lead to a subpar product that disappoints the fans and wrestlers alike. One would think WWE writers can look back to the greats like Hulk Hogan and rethink promos of today as today’s promos lack that edge.

Promos cut by superstars today can rarely ignite a fire amongst the fans to make them want to see the match. Scripted or not, the promos of the attitude era infused fans with adrenaline.
