Brock Lesnar is a fighter. He never stepped back or ran away from any challenge. But when he first got admitted into a hospital after getting diagnosed with diverticulitis, he and wife fled from the hospital. However, it was a smart move, according to Lesnar, as he felt like dying in that situation.

Following UFC 100, Lesnar was preparing to fight against Shane Carwin. But Some days later, the WWE legend experienced a terrible pain that landed him in a hospital in a town called Brandon.

As soon as he reached the hospital, they had put Lesnar on the morphine. And that took care of the immediate pain. But the doctors could not figure out the exact problem. And so, the doctors planned to do a CT scan.

However, the hospital had only one machine at the hospital and it was broken. Though they claimed to get it fixed in some time, it did not get fixed even after eight hours. And as time passed, Lesnar felt like he was dying. “My condition was getting worse. I didn’t know if I was dying, but it sure felt like I was,” he noted in his autobiography, Death Clutch.

At one point, the WWE superstar thought he would die waiting for the hospital staff to fix the CT machine. Soon after that, Brock Lesnar wanted to get out of the hospital. And when he expressed these feelings to his wife, Sable, they planned to flee from the hospital.

How did Brock Lesnar and Sable get out of that hospital?

In his autobiography, Brock Lesnar talked about how and Sable fled from that hospital in Brandon. The two-time Royal Rumble winner noted, “I called one of the nurses in and asked for more pain medication. What I didn’t tell her is that I needed the pain medication because I was planning to bolt, and had a long drive ahead of me.”

The Beast Incarnate noted in his autobiography, “Before we left, however, we needed a plan. Bismarck, North Dakota, was the closest U.S. city, so I called Kim Sabot. Kim had dealt with his own health issues over a long period of time, and he assured us that the hospital in Bismarck could take care of me. Rena wheeled me out of the Canadian hospital, got me into the passenger seat,
and we were off.”
