Wrestling superstars jumping from promotion to promotion is not a new thing. However, seeing a wrestler who has been widely associated with one specific company change ship can be quite surprising. So, when Eric Bischoff was asked to put forward his thoughts regarding Edge‘s possible switch to AEW, he had some interesting words for wrestling fans.

The former WWE employee has certain beliefs about what could happen if Edge decides to move over to AEW. Moreover, Bischoff holds a strong opinion that the WWE legend wouldn’t pull off this step. The former WCW promoter gave reasons behind his logic too.

A major reason why Bischoff thinks Edge wouldn’t go to AEW is that he thinks the wrestler is close to retirement. There is no hiding the fact that the WWE Hall of Famer has been in the promotion for a long time. In fact, Edge has already retired once due to an injury.  On Eric Bischoff’s podcast ‘83 Weeks‘, Jon Alba talked about the rumor that Edge could be appearing in AEW since his contract with WWE ran out. In the episode, Bischoff elaborated on what he thinks regarding the same.

Bischoff started off by saying, “He’s at a stage in his life where I’m not sure he wants to continue wrestling. You know, I don’t think he needs to continue wrestling.” Then, he also added that the wrestler is a great actor and has everything that could help him if he decided to pursue a Hollywood career at this point in his life.

And at this stage in his life, I would guess more than anything, he’s ready to either move on or perhaps this is a contract negotiation. And we’re gonna get right up to the line and he’s gonna get an offer, and he’s either gonna take it or leave it,” added the ex-WCW personality. He also further claimed, “I don’t see him jumping ship… But even if he does, I don’t see that making a big difference in AEW. It historically has not.

Here Bischoff could imply that the former WWE stars who went to AEW didn’t make much of a dent in WWE’s status. While standing by his beliefs, Bischoff ignored some major signs pointing toward Edge’s possible arrival at AEW. Let’s take a brief look at these possible reasons before AEW ‘All In’.
