John Cena Made So Much Money in Hollywood, He Apologized to Dwayne Johnson for Criticizing Him for Stepping Away From the Ring

Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, and ‘The Champ’ John Cena are the two men who aced the pro wrestling business and film industry. WWE Superstars of all generations look up to Dwayne Johnson and John Cena for inspiration.

Both Cena and Johnson made more success and money after transitioning from the WWE ring to the big screen. However, the 16-time WWE Champion initially did not believe in The Rock’s hard work in Hollywood during their feud.

In 2008, the Peacemaker star publicly criticized and called out ‘The Great One’ for distancing himself from the WWE. Although, when Cena’s career took off in Hollywood, his snarky comment against The Rock backfired him.

In 2011, The Rock made a brief run to the WWE and went head-to-head with ‘The Champ’ during his most epic run. During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, John Cena apologized to Dwayne Johnson for working in the movies.

During the beef on WWE programming, Cena mocked Johnson for his sporadic appearances in the company for Hollywood. Now that Cena is having a ball of his life in Hollywood, he admitted he was out of the line with Dwayne Johnson.

The 16-time WWE Champion John Cena stood as a backbone for the company. Cena claimed to Dwayne Johnson that he would never leave, representing his love for WWE. However, a conflict was created in John Cena’s mind when he shifted to the Hollywood schedule.

The Jumanji actor makes part-time appearances in WWE because of his hectic Hollywood schedule. However, if Dwayne Johnson gets injured inside the squared circle, it ultimately delays the plan for the upcoming films.

Cena added, “When you do a movie, you are not allowed to do anything else. Because if I go do Monday Night Raw and Seth Rollins put my nose over here, that messes up the movie.”

John Cena referenced the incident when his nose was broken at the hands of WWE superstar Seth Rollins. Cena’s injury was undoubtedly inconvenient for him, but the WWE simply changed up the storyline and continued forward. As a result, Vince McMahon’s WWE didn’t have to postpone its entire schedule.
