Maxwell Jacob Friedman, better known as MJF, has been conspicuously absent from AEW lately. He was last seen at the AEW World’s End PPV where he lost his World title to Samoa Joe due to Adam Cole‘s betrayal. ‘The Salt of the Earth’ repeatedly mentioned a “bidding war” over his contract which was set to expire in January this year.

AEW recently removed all his merchandise from their website and even removed him from the roster page. It could very well be a part of a storyline as he is currently nursing an injury. But then again MJF is on good terms with Cody Rhodes which brings up all sorts of speculation.

There have been reports that MJF has already signed a new deal with AEW but there hasn’t been an official announcement yet, keeping room open for speculations. Rumors now swirl about MJF’s potential appearance at WrestleMania XL, given his ambiguous status and removal from the AEW website.

Apart from MJF, there is one more AEW star who might attend the ‘Mania to support her friend.

Mercedes Mone to be at her best friend’s WrestleMania XL match?

Mercedes Mone fka Sasha Banks recently joined Tony Khan’s company AEW this month at AEW Big Business. ‘The CEO’ made an electrifying entrance and had her friends from WWE for support. Bayley was in attendance to cheer Mone for her pro wrestling return. This begs the question, will Mone return the favor given the stakes at WrestleMania XL?

Bayley is set to wrestle with her former team member, the Women’s Champion Iyo Sky. Damage CTRL betrayed Bayley leading to this match and the “Role Model” could finally get her revenge. Even if it will be hard for Mone to show up in the ring during the match given her contract with AEW, it won’t be difficult to imagine her being in attendance or backstage to support her friend.

Is Cody Rhodes’ brother, Dustin Rhodes, set to support him against The Bloodline?

In the ‘City of Brotherly Love, one brother might just lend a hand to his sibling in securing that championship title. Dustin Rhodes, popularly known as GoldDust, in WWE, has been supporting his brother on social media as he prepares to take down The Bloodline at WrestleMania.

His last match in AEW was in February 2024 in a tag team match and as such speculation is rife around him probably being done with the promotion. A few days back it was revealed by Sean Ross Sapp in a Q&A that, “Dustin Rhodes’ contract is up in the fall.” He also stated that recently no talks have emerged about whether he will be with AEW in the future. Not only this, Dustin will be in Philadelphia on WrestleMania weekend.

He will be at WrestleCon on Friday April 5, which fuels his WrestleMania appearance rumors. Amidst all this Cody’s brother Dustin uploaded a video stating, “F*ck. @TheRock👏 👏 👏 .@dustinrhodes.” He was quick to fire shots at The Great One after the segment where Cody Rhodes slapped The Rock.

It is possible that the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship match between Reigns and Rhodes will be a no holds barred affair, as such Dustin showing up to help his brother could be a surprise that fans will talk about for years to come.
