John Cena’s relationship with his ex-fiance Nikki Bella was full of ups and downs. The couple had quite a few heartwarming moments and at times, clashed over their opposing views. Fans had the chance to see the pair’s fascinating relationship on screen as the two were part of the Total Divas cast in 2013.

The E! reality series showcased the personal lives of various WWE stars, with Cena and Nikki Bella being the focus for a long time on the show. In one episode of the show’s first season, the former Divas Champion moved in with Cena in a significant step in their relationship. As Nikki was getting herself acquainted with her new surroundings, she had some decoration advice for ‘The Champ’.

Cena and Nikki Bella’s relationship came to an end in 2018, as the two had different opinions on starting a family. Before their split, John Cena had detailed certain rules to Nikki Bella about living with him in the same house and their relationship overall.

But when Nikki Bella first moved in with the ‘Doctor of Thuganomics’ she was unaware of what was to come next, although she had a major hint when she first voiced her opinion on Cena’s home decor.

She told Cena, “I think you need to have framed personal photos and make it more warm. Like on the side tables.” The 16-time WWE World Champion didn’t address the issue directly and said he could make the place warm if he can get the fireplace working.

Nikki then mentioned that Cena’s house looks like a hotel.

She continued, “John’s house definitely feels like you know like an upscale hotel. Its very clean and perfect. Nothing in his home is personal or warm. It kind has a little bit of cold feeling. So I think definitely needs a Nicole touch.”

Nikki continued to talk to her former boyfriend about giving the place a personal touch. But Cena said she didn’t bring this up when she first visited the place. Nikki said it was different now since she was going to live there. Cena’s facial expressions suggested he wasn’t too pleased with her ideas and seemed keen on getting the fireplace started.

This was a preview of what was to come as their relationship ebbed and flowed around such debates and topics. After Total Divas their saga moved over to Total Bellas and revolved around more or less the same aspects. Eventually, they decided to go their separate ways after getting engaged and with only weeks left for their marriage.
