Brock Lesnar was a force to reckon with from the day he debuted on RAW in 2002. He squashed Al Snow, Maven, and Spike Dudley while their match for the WWF Hardcore title was midway, to announce his arrival. But ‘The Beast Incarnate’ always had his eyes on the top stars of the company a year before his debut.

The-then future 10-time world champion had aspired to work with Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle.

The youngest WWE Champion rarely does any interviews. If we spot him in an interview, it might be during major PLEs of WWE or during UFC PPVs. However, in 2001 he gave a rare interview to Dave Meltzer, while still in WWE’s developmental OVW.

Brock Lesnar was 24 years old at the time, training in OWV. One of the fan questions for ‘The Next Big Thing’ was who he’d like to work in WWE. A humble young Lesnar stated that he was ready to work with anybody, but name-dropped three top names of the WWE roster in 2001.

The 46-year-old said, “Who would I like to work with? I’d like to work with anybody, I get the opportunity to work with. But I think I like to work with Kurt Angle, mastermind Steve Austin would be great, Undertaker anybody at this stage, anybody. I wouldn’t care, I wouldn’t deny anybody. I would be happy to work with anybody there, any stars up there.”

As a youngster entering the world of professional wrestling Lesnar was ready to share the ring with any opponent. Back then and even now, The Beast saw every match and opponent as an opportunity to shine. As we know, Lesnar did went on to face Kurt Angle and The Undertaker multiple times in his career, but a match against Austin never materialized.

Interestingly when it came to Stone Cold, McMahon wanted Austin to job to Lesnar in the 2002 King of The Ring tournament on an episode of RAW. However, Austin felt that such a big match needed a much better build rather it being a throwaway match on RAW and declined to face Lesnar in the ring.

He made his main roster debut in 2002 and Paul Heyman quoted him as The Next Big Thing, a nickname that Vince McMahon disliked at first. However, Lesnar went on to face all the above-mentioned stars and became a marquee WWE superstar. Surprisingly, there is one WWE legend Lesnar was ready to face but McMahon never booked it.

The Beast Incarnate was ready to work with Chyna

There is enough evidence that the 2019 WWE Hall of Famer Chyna was a huge star in the Attitude Era. Surprisingly, in the same interview, Lesnar said he would work with “The Ninth Wonder of the World”.

The seven-time WWE Champion said, “It wouldn’t bother to work, I’d work with whoever, Chyna? I don’t care. No, I don’t have a problem working with anybody.”

Although Lesnar’s comments about Chyna showcase his willingness to face anybody but back, then men’s and women’s rosters did clash on several occasions. Hence, Vince McMahon would’ve possibly booked a face-off of a segment between the two if possible. Sadly, Chyna left WWE in 2001, a year before Lesnar debuted on RAW.
