The next major premium live event WWE is going to host is Royal Rumble on January 27, 2024. There is still a month left for the event to occur, but the WWE Universe has already started buzzing about it. One of the main matches in the show will feature the 30-men Royal Rumble elimination match.
WWE has already revealed Cody Rhodes and CM Punk as the two contenders for the match. That said, Royal Rumble is all about surprise returns, and here is a list of five legends that might come back and enter the men’s elimination match next month.
1. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin

The last time the WWE Universe saw “Stone Cold” Steve Austin wrestle inside the squared circle was at WrestleMania 38, where he defeated Kevin Owens in a singles match. With ‘The Best in the World’ back in WWE, fans are hopeful that the decades-long teased rivalry of Punk vs. Austin might come true this year.
2. Shane McMahon
Shane McMahon returned this year at WrestleMania 39, only to fall victim to an unfortunate accident. On Night 2 of Mania 39, he made an appearance as The Miz‘s surprise opponent. A few seconds into the match, he injured his knee in the middle of the ring. Medics had to check on him and carry him backstage.

It was a disappointing night for ‘Shane-O Mac’. Therefore, to redeem his unfortunate accident at Mania 39, he may return at the Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant for the men’s elimination chamber match.
3. John Cena
John Cena is another superstar who is likely to return at Royal Rumble as the surprise entrant in the men’s elimination match. This is because he made his return recently and was involved in a feud with The Bloodline, where he lost to Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel in his last match.
4. Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar was last seen at SummerSlam where he lost his match against ‘The American Nightmare’. He only makes appearances at major PLEs. Since Royal Rumble is the next big WWE event, he may make an appearance.
