The Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) batch of 2002 who debuted in WWE is considered to have the best WWE Superstars. It included future world champions like John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, and Batista, a class that would eventually become known as the “OVW 4”.

Brock Lesnar was considered the best wrestler among the four superstars, due to his success in NCAA. He was a jacked big man who was agile in the ring.

Lesnar spent his time in OVW as a tag team wrestler with his high school roommate, Shelton Benjamin. We knew them as The Minnesota Stretching Crew, and they won the OVW Tag Team Championship on three occasions.

Lesnar used to perform a move that was difficult for a man of his size. He used to have a shooting star press as a part of his in-ring move set in OVW. He stopped the move after debuting on the main roster and didn’t use it till WrestleMania 19.

Recently, a Twitter page Vintage Puroresu プロレス posted a video of Brock Lesnar doing Shooting Star Press in OVW, a move that almost ended his career in 2003.

The caption said, “Generational talents take center stage in OVW as Brock Lesnar hits a shooting star press before setting the table for Shelton Benjamin’s 450 splash! (2001)”

Brock Lesnar is an agile man and could do some cruiserweight moves in the early stages of his career. However, he stopped using shooting star press once he debuted on the main roster, as the wrestling maneuver didn’t match his gimmick.

The Beast tried to use shooting star press on Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 19 in their WWE Championship match but failed to connect. He fell hard on his neck and was numb for a few seconds. It almost ended the career of The Beast and since then Lesnar has tried none of those aerial moves in his career.

What is next for Brock Lesnar?

Recently, at WrestleMania 38, the WWE Universe witnessed a huge match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns to unify the World Titles of the company. Roman Reigns won the match after successfully connecting a spear to Brock Lesnar and unified the WWE and Universal Championships.
