“Vince McMahon Got Sick of Tag Team Wrestling”- WWE Legend Bret Hart Makes a Huge Claim
Bret Hart has always been the critic of WWE. His experience in the professional wrestling industry allows him to spot every flaw in the machine. He seems to have spotted a major one in WWE today.
On Episode 33 of Confessions of The Hitman, the WWE Hall of Famer called out the absence of Tag Teams in Vince McMahon’s setup.

“There were so many great teams,” said Hart. “It’s sad if you look at tag team wrestling today, where it [has] gone because they let it die out a little. But it always had its own history and its own style. A tag team wrestling match is so much different than any match on the card. It’s a completely different kind of strategy to the match and building it up.”
Drawing examples from his own legendary matches, Bret Hart backed up his statements effectively.
“And the matchups – there are four guys in the ring and you team up Andre [The Giant] and Haku, as an example, against me and Jim ‘The Anvil’. It’s like, people go, ‘What’s going to happen in this?’ Me and Jim working over Andre can happen. Two guys on one. It was just fun to play up the psychology of how would The Hart Foundation fare against that team or The Rougeaus? They tag in and out all the time and they have a certain style,” explained Hart.
WWE has overlooked a lot of Tag Team potential
WWE has misused many Tag Teams over the years and has wasted potential all-time greats. A good example of this would be the team of Enzo Amore and Big Cass.

The two had more charisma than any other team on the roster and influenced the crowd like no other. However, they too saw a steep fall shortly after their debut in the main roster.
“I think it’s my understanding that Vince McMahon got sick of tag team wrestling and is no longer a fan of it,” said ‘The Hitman’. “And that’s so sad that he kind of singlehandedly killed a part of the wrestling business that was so important.”

WWE’s release of FTR, the split of New Day and Otis and Tucker, and the struggles of building up on new tag teams prove Bret Hart’s statements. AEW’s tag team brilliance gives it a decisive edge over WWE. Vince McMahon will have to look into that division once more before it dips further.
