REPORT: WWE Has Major Plans Set for Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock’s Return in 2023

No other WWE superstar has come close to winning hearts and dominating the ring with his stage presence like ‘The Rock’ has. Dwayne Johnson’s skills at the mic are still the best, and no one can cut promos as he can.

Unfortunately, the Brahma Bull’s last WWE appearance was over three years ago, at the 20th anniversary of SmackDown. So, when rumors start spreading about the People’s Champion’s return to the Squared Circle, it is natural for fans to be on the edge of their seats.

A source close to WrestlingNews.co recently revealed that the WWE has big plans involving Johnson and the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. Ever since Triple H took over as WWE’s head of creative, those plans that were kept on the back-burner. However, fans are excited that it might finally take place.

What are WWE’s plans for Dwayne Johnson?

There were plans in the pipeline since 2020 to turn Roman Reigns into the top babyface in the industry. The details of the plan were that Reigns would wrestle ‘The Rock’ and win, retaining his title as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. The source revealed that Triple H wants to go ahead with this original plan.

Reigns’ run as champion has reportedly been one of the longest in WWE history, trailing only Hogan, Sammartino, Pedro Morales, and Bob Backlund. Roman Reigns will reportedly enter WrestleMania 39 as the champion. This means he will have held the title for an incredible 945 days.

Reigns last suffered a defeat on December 15, 2019, at the TLC pay-per-view. On that show, he lost a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match to Baron Corbin.

Dwayne Johnson is now a massively successful entrepreneur and Holywood action superstar – his movies like ‘Jungle Cruise’ and ‘Red Notice’ have been blockbusters, and he has become a household name all over the world.

The only thing fans now want to see the ‘Brahma Bull’ do is to return to the ring again and wrestle and mock as he used to at his peak, even if he is to lose against the Tribal Chief.
