Rhea Ripley Is Glad That WWE Gave Her a Chance to Make One of Her “Favorite People”, Who Passed Away Recently, Proud: “I Hold It Close to My Heart”

Rhea Ripley, the reigning WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, has been on a remarkable run. Her victory over Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39 propelled Ripley to the pinnacle of the roster. Known for her resilient character, Ripley embodies a tough persona that doesn’t tolerate any nonsense. However, recently on the ‘Cheap Heat’ podcast, Ripley revealed a very unknown side of her.

During the interview, Ripley talked about her family life in the country down under and talk about the people who mean the world to her. She would open up about her recently deceased grandmother and also her uncle.

Ripley claimed how wrestling on such a big platform makes them proud and makes her feel the struggle worthy of what it is. She would get emotional while speaking about this and start talking about her “nana” in Australia who passed away around one month ago.

WWE is one of the biggest promotions in the world, and every budding wrestler dreams to be on its roster one day. However, the 26-year-old has not only fulfilled her dream but also risen to the main-event status. Owing to her hard work and dedication, Ripley is one of the most popular in the industry.

Speaking on the podcast, she revealed how her being in WWE makes her family proud. While remembering her grandmother, she said, “So, I hold it close to my heart that I got to talk to her, and got to see her, hear her again. And, thankful that she was holding it out for me and my sister.  She is one of my favorite people and its too hard being so far away from home. Makes the grind so much more worth it in a way cause you are doing it in a way to make them proud.”

Ripley also spoke about her uncle who suffers from Parkinson’s, and gets extremely happy seeing Ripley wrestle. She said, “like my uncle, he has Parkinson’s. And it got real bad in the last few years, and I haven’t got to see him but the one thing that makes him so happy is watching me wrestle, and watching me doing my thing in WWE.”

Ripley recently finished her feud with Zelina Vega, and is now looking forward to her next challenge.
