In a recent interview on ToBeMiro TV, former WWE Superstar Rusev talked about the time he and Triple H went head-on at a match in Portugal. This was the first and only encounter between the two powerhouses.

Since the match wasn’t broadcasted on Live TV worldwide, Rusev comments on it through a phone-recording from a fan.

“It was a good match, the crowd was on fire bro,” says Rusev. “That was my first time working Triple H as well, I’ve never worked with him before. First time man, and the only time actually, the first and only one I’ve worked with him.”

Rusev took on “The Game” in a single match in Portugal on November 6, 2017. The fight took place at the bullfighting arena in Lisbon. The fans were ecstatic, given that they got to see a rare duel involving Triple H himself.

“But that crowd, that crowd was on fire. That crowd was spectacular,” says Rusev. “Was this the bullfighting arena, if you were there? I think it was the bullfighting arena. And I think that match did not start in the beginning. I think we had about 10 minutes before that or maybe five minutes.”

Triple H eventually bested Rusev through a Pedigree

The match did go on for quite a while. However, Rusev’s mind games did not work with “The Game”. Finally catching Rusev, Triple H delivered a huge Pedigree to him, ending the match.

“I mean not bad, the match was about thirty minutes long. But yeah this is the first and only time I’ve worked with Triple H. He was so good man, he’s so good though, I mean obviously he’s so good, he’s been doing it forever and it was definitely a pleasure, it was definitely a bucket list of mine,” concludes Rusev.

Despite Rusev’s beliefs, the two did meet once before this encounter in a match in Chile. This was merely a few weeks before their fight in Lisbon. This was also recorded in length from a fan’s phone.

Rusev enjoyed the match nonetheless and looks back at it with pride. The fans in Lisbon were extremely excited by what they had just witnessed as well. WWE has done a good job making it’s mark worldwide, and this stands as proof of it.
