Both Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch fought to win the Premium Live Event, but what it revealed later about the couple’s dynamic is more fascinating. Being a true wrestler, Lynch kept a massive secret from his husband that only a handful of people on the roster knew. 

The year 2023 started with immense joy as fans awaited the Royal Rumble. To give fans a wholesome wrestling experience, the promotion came up with several surprises. Among these was a shocking entry of a WWE color commentator, which created much chaos at the ringside. No one knew about this shocking return apart from a WWE superstar. However, she decided to keep it a secret, even from her own husband.

In the latest episode of “The Pat McAfee Show,” the blue-brand commentator himself revealed that the four-time WWE Women’s Champion knew about his surprise return. He told Rollins about his wife and that she saw him arrive at the arena. This incident happened when McAfee was finding his way to enter the WWE’s gimmick bus while running through several buses.

As soon as Rollins registered the news in his head, he responded, “You ran into the right person because she will keep a secret. She didn’t even tell me, didn’t even know.” These confident words by The Architect were enough to show how proud he was of his wife, despite her keeping the massive Royal Rumble secret from him. The wrestler in him understood the need for his wife to keep the confidential news to herself.

Their conversation also divulged the reaction of Big Time Becks after seeing McAfee. She was shocked until she understood that the 35-year-old’s entry was a surprise. Everyone had the same reaction as Lynch when they witnessed McAfee entering the Rumble. However, someone from the roster wasn’t that pleased to see him.

The awkwardness after Patt McAfee’s entry in Royal Rumble

The color commentator made his way to the ring while greeting the audience. He also mocked Corey Graves and Michael Cole with a “s**k it” taunt. However, Cole still looked happy, but Graves didn’t seem to enjoy it. Even when McAfee came to shake hands with him, he hesitated. The tension between the two was quite evident as Corey said, “I’m going home” when the American sports analyst joined the ringside commentary. Whether he enjoyed it or not, he had to sit beside Patt McAfee for the entire show.

The promotion kept his return a secret from almost everyone. While everyone had differing reactions, the fandom and the performers themselves shared the same shock of seeing McAfee. This became possible because Lynch did a commendable job of keeping the secret.
