65-Year-Old Former WWE Superstar Who Was Fired for Allegedly Assaulting Vince McMahon Backstage Is Set to Make First Appearance After 22 Years

The 80s and the early 90s were tough times for Vince McMahon to handle WWE. Many legends talk about several backstage disputes that went out of hand back in the day and some of them include McMahon. This also includes one former WWE superstar who had allegedly assaulted the 77-year-old in 1992 and is now ready to make a public appearance decades later.

Even WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart has talked about the entire incident of this former WWE superstar. Things were reportedly not great for this 65-year-old wrestling veteran, but he will return now to the limelight once again.

WreslteCon will have an event on August 4th and 5th in Detroit this year. The event will have a special guest this time who is none other than Kevin Patrick Wacholz aka Nailz. The 65-year-old will appear in a wrestling-related event after over two decades on the sidelines. Wrestling fans may remember him from his WWE  feud with the Big Boss Man.

Similar to his debut Nailz shared his picture in a prisoner’s get-up. Moreover, he also made a video that showed the world he is back. Furthermore, PWInsider shared a detailed report on Nailz’s return to the wrestling world in August of this year. 

They wrote, “Nailz will make his first public appearance in decades over Summerslam weekend in Detroit, Michigan on 8/4 and 8/5 at Huntington Place.  He will be the lead guest for Wrestlecon’s Destination Detroit that weekend, taking part in signings and photo opportunities.”

Wrestling Veteran Recalls Seeing Vince McMahon Get Strangled by a Former WWE Superstar

Wacholz’s last wrestling appearance was at an independent show in Orrock, Minnesota in 2001. He lost that match and since then he was not seen in the wrestling world. Subsequently, his WWE run ended in a bitter way in 1992 after he allegedly assaulted Vince McMahon.

It was reported, Nailz and McMahon were arguing over Wacholz’s SummerSlam payment. When things didn’t go in Nailz’s way he jumped across the room, grabbed McMahon by the throat, and then threw him down. WWE legend Bret Hart has mentioned it in his autobiography.

The Hitman described the Nailz-McMahon incident

In his autobiography, Bret Hart mentioned there was shouting for nearly 15 mins. Suddenly, he heard a loud noise of something crashing as he listened to it “from down the hall”.

Hart narrated, “Nailz had knocked Vince over his chair, choking him violently, until Lanza, Slaughter and a swarm of agents teamed up to pull him off. Nailz walked out and immediately called the police.”

WWE fired Nailz in December of 1992 and since then he wrestled at WCW and some independent shows until 2001. Now, as he is making his returning wrestling fans will surely like to meet and know where he was for 20+ years.
