WrestleMania 38 sure came with plenty of thrilling moments. The Most Stupendous one must have been the return of ‘The Texas Rattlesnake’ for one last match on the ring. The WWE fandom was so pumped up to witness Stone Cold Steve Austin beat the hell out of Kevin Owens and stealing the show on both days with stunners flying all over.
But there was also an infamous botch incident on WrestleMania Sunday as Steve Austin took over the ring to deliver stunners during the segment with Pat McAfee vs. Austin Theory and Mr. McMahon himself. However, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently spoke about the infamous botch when Stone Cold was annoyed with WWE chairperson and CEO Vince McMahon.

On the latest episode of the Kurt Angle Show podcast, the ‘American Hero’ reflected on his take on WrestleMania 38 and the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin. Although the show came off thrilling on both days when Austin got to entertain his home-state crowd, the failed stunner on Vince McMahon definitely was most talked about.

Kurt Angle talked about when he spoke to Steve Austin prior to the Pat McAfee vs. Austin Theory match, as he was on backstage. “Yeah. I gave him a hug, said good luck to him, I didn’t see him afterward,” Angle said. “I’m sure he was a little pissed off about Vince and the way he took the Stunner. It was crazy because Austin was chugging these beers and you could see his lips saying ‘that motherf***er’.”

“The thing is, his timing was just bad. He didn’t know when to jump, didn’t know he was going to go down, up, down. He just thought he was going to go up and down. With Austin, he didn’t expect the boot to the gut. He just thought he was going to take the Stunner. So when Steve booted him, Vince went to his knees, and then Steve had to pick him back up and he tried it again and Vince backed into the ropes. It was a disaster. I just wanted to get it over with,” added the Olympics Gold Medallist.

Furthermore, Kurt Angle also shared what he thinks happened next. He doesn’t expect Austin to just let that be his last stunner and The Texas Rattlesnake will probably come back to do it right. Nevertheless, the WWE legend said it was an incredible moment, despite what happened with Mr. McMahon.
