It’s been a while since WWE fans saw Randy Orton in action. The Legend Killer had last graced the screens when he had formed an unlikely tag team with Matt Riddle calling it RK-Bro. The team went off against The Usos, where their Raw Tag Team Championship title was on the line. After losing that bout in May 2022, Orton has not been seen in the ring again.

However, if the 43-year-old star does decide to return to the ring, there are a few stars who should be aware of The Viper’s fangs.

One of the most prestigious titles in WWE is the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Currently, the champion at WWE is Roman Reigns. He has been reigning over the title for a long time, completing over a thousand days, making it one of the longest title reigns. However, Orton might want to change things for him. They both have a history, with Orton being one of The Tribal Chief’s biggest obstacles in establishing himself as a solo performer. They both got to battle it out in SummerSlam 2014, and Reigns had the chance to defeat Orton. But it would be interesting for the fans to see how the 38-year-old star will react after seeing his old nemesis.

But the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship Title is not the only prestigious title at the promotion. And Roman Reigns is not the only old rival of Orton who has had a long title run. A former stablemate and a very old enemy, Seth Rollins now holds the WWE World Heavy Weight Championship title. He has been holding on to the title for almost 138 days and has successfully defended it against Shinsuke Nakamura on multiple occasions. With their rivalry dating back to the days of The Authority, it would be interesting for the fans to see how The Visionary might defend his title against The Viper, especially with an injured back.

Over the years, Orton had a ton of friends and a ton of enemies. But one of his oldest friends who turned into his enemy due to their bittersweet relationship might be the perfect rival for his return.

The Legacy unites?

Back in 2008, Cody Rhodes and Ted DeBiase Jr. formed an alliance when they won the WWE Tag Team Championship title at Raw. After this, the duo worked hard to get Randy Orton’s respect. After a while, that did end up happening, and they formed a heel faction with the name, The Legacy. The stable gained notoriety and the members quickly rose to fame. However, things turned sour between them when Orton attacked both his stablemates, as he was not able to win the 2010 Royal Rumble. He was disqualified as Rhodes tried to interfere to help Orton. Later on, DeBiase Jr. and Rhodes turned against Orton and the faction disbanded.

However, in 2022, Rhodes once again teamed up with Orton for an eight-man tag team match. But this reunion couldn’t mean that The American Nightmare has forgotten everything Orton has done to him. With Rhodes becoming a fan favorite, being challenged by one of his oldest enemies could turn out to be a triumphing story arc for The American Nightmare. As of November 2022, Randy Orton has undergone a spinal fusion surgery and has been advised complete bed rest.
