The Rock was nowhere on Raw cards tonight until we saw him abruptly make his way to the ring to get in Cody Rhodes’ business, as he always does. But this time, he chose a silent threat to lay his opponent open.

The Rock was originally advertised for Monday Night Raw in Brooklyn next week. But The Great One’s surprise appearance in Chicago, Allstate Arena, incredibly spiced things up and pushed fans to anticipate something great tonight. The Rock showed up and initiated a death stare-down with Rhodes, making fans burst into “this is awesome” chants. But it’s what followed that left everyone guessing.

Just a moment later, The Rock slowly stalked toward Rhodes – like a predator to prey. As everyone, including Rhodes,  held their breath, Johnson leaned in and whispered something that visibly left The American Nightmare shaken. The Brahma Bull creepily smiled before heading backstage. The series of events – from his unexpected entry to the menacing whisper – made fans scratch their heads, guessing what The Rock said. So, when WWE’s official account posed the question themselves, the wrestling community didn’t hold back.

Considering how shocked Cody Rhodes looked, one fan wrote, “I could see it in Cody’s face. The Rock told him something unexpected. I think he told him he’s on his side and he’s gonna help him or something like that. Anybody else feel it too?” But what could that something unexpected be? With WrestleMania 40 just around the corner, Rhodes and Seth Rollins are set to take on The Rock and Roman Reigns. In anticipation of what could go down, another speculated that Johnson said, “I got your back!”

They continued, “I’m calling it right now. Rock will pin Cody on night one, turn on Roman on night two, and help Cody win the title. This will set up a Roman/Rock feud for SummerSlam.” With all the rumors around The Rock potentially turning on Roman Reigns in Philadelphia, maybe the possibility that Johnson told Rhodes just that left him shaken. “Relax, I want Roman,” speculated another fan. However, there was one thing that almost everyone believed The Rock said.

“Tonight… I’m gonna make you bleed.” There were variations of this throughout the responses. Curious about what Johnson could be up to, a fan expressed, “Why do I see, “Tonight, I’ll make you bleed”???? wyd Dwayne?” Well, before getting to just what The Rock was doing, many others were in awe of the scripting and production value of the entire event – how The Great One made his entry, intimidated Rhodes, and simply left.

An X user hilariously wrote, “Whatever you are paying your production team, double it,” while another expressed, “Literally gave me chills.” Interestingly, the wrestling community’s hunch about The Rock planning a big assault on The American Nightmare to “make him bleed” in that head-turning whispering moment came true!

The Rock’s supposed whispering threat to Cody Rhodes was far from a hollow claim

Tonight’s red brand show saw Jey Uso coming face to face with Shinsuke Nakamura in a grudge match. With Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and the Bloodline getting involved, Uso got the upper hand. Shortly after, The Rock targeted Cody Rhodes backstage. He abruptly slammed his head into a table. He smashed a trash can on his head while assaulting him terribly like a true heel. When Rhodes tried to bounce back, the Rock threw him outside into the rain.

Following him further, he tore Rhodes’ shirt. He slapped a bloodied Rhodes and sent him straight into his private bus with some extremely disgraceful antics. Johnson’s cocky Final Boss cry included putting some of Rhodes’ blood on a belt and sending a message to Mama Rhodes. This intense ending to Raw spiced things up even more ahead of the big Mania match next weekend. And we can’t wait to see if Cody Rhodes fires back, reestablishing his dominance in the lore.
