Amid fan outcry, it was revealed that Dwayne Johnson’s return and subsequent change in the WrestleMania match represented a “power play” on his part. According to reports, negative reactions from fans did not go unnoticed by the company. Brian Gewirtz, former head writer of WWE, came back to work on the storyline.
