Kurt Angle was one of the most famous wrestlers during the Attitude Era. However, when he wanted to make a comeback on the roaster, Vince McMahon prohibited it by referring to his issues at that time. Although Angle made his comeback in WWE 2017, it would’ve been different if he had gotten his place on the roaster two years earlier. Kurt was much healthier and athletic at the time, and perhaps his fans would’ve received a better storyline of him.

Nowadays, Kurt Angle runs a YouTube channel where he talks about his professional and personal life during his long career in wrestling. In one of his conversations about WWE, he revealed how Vince McMahon denied his comeback in 2015. At that time, Kurt Angle had some legal issues and was arrested for DUIs.

Talking about the same Angle said, “There was one point where I wanted to come back in 2015, and I reached out to Triple H, and actually, I’m sorry, I reached out to Terry Taylor. Terry Taylor reached out to Triple H and Vince, and two words Vince said, ‘Bad reputation.’ Vince didn’t want any part of me in 2015. That’s when I had the DUIs. You know, my whole life was spiraling down. He had no interest in bringing me back.”

Kurt Angle’s achievements and narrative

Kurt Angle is not only a former WWE superstar but is also an Olympic gold medalist. In the 1996 Summer Olympics, he competed with a broken neck and won his gold medal in freestyle wrestling. He debuted in pro wrestling that same year and competed in various main events.

Like his career in freestyle wrestling, Kurt Angle also managed to win big in the WWE universe. Angel made the ‘Hollywood Hulk Hogan’ tap out with his ankle lock and defeated Undertaker and The Rock in a triple threat match.

It was disappointing to see how Kurt Angle’s career ended in WWE. Only if he had returned to the WWE in 2015, possibly he would’ve got a better narrative to his story.

Nevertheless, Kurt Angle is a legend and was one of the best to ever step inside the ring. And while his return in 2015, might have benefited him and the WWE, Angle will still go down as one of the greatest of all time.
