After a year-long feud, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns have finally gone their separate ways. After their match at SummerSlam earlier this year, the superstars have mutual respect for each other. This year their feud was completely another way around as Reigns was the heel and Lesnar was the babyface.

In a recent talk with The Ringer, Roman Reigns gave his views over the classic matches he had with Brock Lesnar. He took multiple shots at The Beast Incarnate while talking about their feud, but praised him too.

The Undisputed Champion said, “That was just a perfect recipe of two performers who want to be the best, and both have pretty legitimate claims to that territory. And when you get two guys who compete, it’s not backstabbing. We’re looking each other in the eyes and we’re telling each other, ‘I’m better than you and if you don’t show me, then this is the end of the road for you.’”

He added, “People probably said, ‘Oh God, not Brock-Roman again.’ And then we go out there and deliver a classic. Got better on that last one. And I think that’s the key to the kingdom. How do we continually get better? How do we upgrade? How do we push ourselves to the next level? How do we continue to move these goal posts?”

Their feud caught a lot of interest this year. When Lesnar won the WWE Title at Elimination Chamber after winning the Royal Rumble, WWE scheduled a title unification match between them at WrestleMania 38.

Furthermore, they reignited their feud at SummerSlam, which got a ‘why again’ question from the fans. However, this Last Man Standing match at the biggest party of the summer surprised everyone.

Reigns said, “To me, if he doesn’t level up and showcase the Cowboy Brock character, then don’t nobody give a sh*t about Brock next to the Tribal Chief. I was able to push my level up, which he knew, OK, ‘this guy’s creating different levels and layers to this, let me step my game up.’ And he did that.”

The Beast is enjoying his current run, which is a great thing for him and WWE. We last saw Lesnar at Crown Jewel defeating Bobby Lashley. After the match, The Almighty attacked him, which indicated their feud wasn’t over. We can expect Lesnar next year around WrestleMania to challenge Lashley or find a new opponent.
