Many kids idolize and admire popular celebrities throughout their childhoods. When it comes to wrestling, a lot of the current crop has been in some way inspired by the stars of yesteryears. Emulating one’s WWE idols by imitating their mannerisms or collecting memorabilia has been a favorite pastime of many a kid. Many aspire to enter the world of wrestling, but only a few get to realize their dream. But that doesn’t mean the end of the road for the rest, as there are other avenues to garnering fame.

That was certainly the case with the Hip hop group Migos members Quavo and the recently deceased Takeoff.

Quavo, who was also Takeoff’s uncle, recently took to Instagram to pen an emotional and heartfelt tribute. In the post, he mentioned the duo’s journey since childhood and their aspirations of becoming WWE stars someday.

He wrote, “Remember, our first dream was to be tag team partners in WWE. We fell in love with WWF wrestling…man we had action figures. Thought we was gonna be pro wrestlers cuz the way he imitated the wrestlers and if you know Take, his imitation skills are to the T…he could imitate anybody just ask Danny and P.”

The tragic passing of Takeoff

Takeoff was fatally shot while attending an after-party along with Quavo at a Bowling Alley in Houston. His untimely passing shook the music industry and the world to its core. The rapper gained a massive fan following at a very young age with his hip-hop skills.

He was one-third of the popular rap group Migos, which consisted of his Uncle Quavo and cousin Offset. The group began rapping as early as 2008 and rose to fame with the release of the song “Versace” in 2013. The group did not look back after the initial success. As they went on to feature in the top 10 of Billboard hot 100 multiple times.

Migos appeared in a WWE event earlier this year

The Uncle-Son duo did get to live their WWE dream earlier this year. Migos accompanied WWE superstars Randy Orton and Matt Riddle for their entrance in the Day One event earlier this year. The group’s entrance was met with a loud pop. And they seemed pumped up during their maiden appearance in a wrestling arena. 

The tragic passing of Takeoff has left a huge void in the music industry. One that would never be filled. After taking the music industry by storm, Takeoff left everyone surprised with his appearance in the squared circle. Quavo’s recent heartfelt post has revealed the childhood dream the pair shared. And it would be of some solace for the fans that Takeoff got to experience a part of his WWE dream.
