Things were not always like this at the start. Back in 2022, both father and son worked as a tag team and even won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. Thus making them the first father-son duo to secure the tag titles in the WWE. But even at that time, Dominik Mysterio never wore a mask. He recently revealed the reason why he avoided his family tradition. On his recent appearance in the WWE digital exclusive: “WWE Tattooed”, he was asked if he would ever get a tattoo on his face.

Unraveling Real Reason Why Dominik Mysterio Betrayed His Father, Rey Mysterio

To which he replied, “That’s gonna be a no-go. I’m too pretty, man. You know, there’s some things you gotta stay away from, and I say this proudly, I’m too good-looking to tattoo anything on my face, that’s why I don’t wear a mask, you know my dad wears a mask, he should get face tattoos, cause he’s probably ugly”.

Implying that his father is using a mask to cover his hideous face. But talking about the mask, Rey Mysterio would love to have a match with his son putting something that ‘Dirty’ Dom cherishes on the line.

The Master Of The 619 first suggested having such a match back in April 2023. Fast forward to October and Mysterio is still gung-ho about having such a match with his diabolical son.

On his recent appearance on the MMA Hour With Ariel Helwani, Mysterio said he would love to make his son go bald. He said, “Why not? I would love that. I don’t think we’ve ever seen that here. Imagine him bald. Don’t imagine me without the mask, you already know”.
