WWE Announces Dates for Roman Reigns’ SmackDown Return Amid Rumors of CM Punk Rivalry

WWE fans often find Roman Reigns on a hiatus. However, even these few appearances that he makes add up to his dominant persona in the promotion. Now, WWE has announced the schedule for The Tribal Chief’s three upcoming appearances.

Three states shall witness Roman Reigns in upcoming shows

Ever since CM Punk‘s return, there have been rumors surrounding a feud between him and The Tribal Chief. While some fans cannot wrap their heads around The Best in The World already receiving a shot at the Universal Championship, others want to see the two in the ring.

Now, WWE has teased fans with three upcoming shows. Since there will be no main roster PLEs until Royal Rumble ’24, WWE has booked Reigns for three weekly shows instead.

While fans in Wisconsin can see The Tribal Chief up close next month, the crowd in Vancouver and Atlanta would have to wait till January.

The arenas that will host Roman Reigns SmackDown appearances are:

  1. Resch Center in Green Bay, WI (12/15/23)
  2. Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC (01/05/24)
  3. State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA (01/19/24)

Some speculations have gone as far as considering Roman Reigns to be CM Punk’s first feud in WWE. Although it isn’t a far-fetched idea, seeing Punk wrestle for the Undisputed Championship soon after his return is a bit absurd. So, what could Reigns be showing up for?

Can we see another ‘Tribal Combat’?

The last time we saw ‘Tribal Combat’ go down in WWE was at SummerSlam. While Jey Uso could’ve snatched away the title from his elder cousin, Reigns won by luck, as Uso was betrayed by his injured twin. However, as we can see, The Tribal Chief’s dominance remains. This indicates that another Tribal Combat could be waiting for us.

Before WrestleMania 39, there were several rumors surrounding Dwayne Johnson‘s possible return at the SoFi Stadium. Even though Reigns ended up getting involved in another storyline, the feud between “The Rock” and his Samoan cousin was ‘locked’ by the promotion.

So, Reigns’ repeated appearance in SmackDown might be foreshadowing the revival of this family feud and fans may get to see a rebooted ‘Tribal Combat’.
