Brock Lesnar has been a massive draw for WWE ever since his return to the promotion. His booking, as a special attraction, builds great hype around his matches and garners attention. Whenever The Beast wrestles for the WWE, it is a big occasion. Lesnar recently returned from one of his breaks and began a feud with Bobby Lashley. The two met at Crown Jewel, with the former UFC Champion emerging victorious. Fans are now excited to see when and against whom Lesnar will wrestle again. But it appears that WWE’s plans for his next match will now have to be changed.

At Crown Jewel, Lashley dominated Lesnar, but ‘The Beast Incarnate’ managed to pick up a win. The idea remains to book a rubber match between the two wrestlers at a later date. According to a report, their third match was set to take place at WWE Day 1 in January, but that is no longer the case since WWE canceled the premium live event.

WWE forced to change plans for the third Brock Lesnar-Bobby Lashley match

Brock Lesnar made a fiery return to WWE after his hiatus when he cost Bobby Lashley the United States Championship on RAW last month. This led to WWE booking a second match between the two powerhouses at Crown Jewel, with their first meeting coming at Royal Rumble earlier this year. The match in Saudi Arabia saw Lashley dominate The Beast, but Lesnar came out on top after cleverly pinning him for the three-count.

With both wrestlers having won one match a piece, the next obvious direction for WWE is to set up a decisive third match between the two former WWE Champions. However, according to reports, the initial plans for this match have been nixed.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer claimed that the original plan called for Lesnar-Lashley III to take place at Day 1 PLE on January 1. But it will have to change now because of WWE canceling the event. Meltzer said, “The story of the match is that Lashley totally dominated him, but Lesnar won the match. It leads to a natural third match… I don’t know if they’re going to save it for WrestleMania, or I don’t know when. Originally it was going to be Day 1, but obviously, that’s out.”

Meltzer also said that he wasn’t sure when the deciding match between the two could take place. He stated, “I don’t know if they’ll do it at Survivor Series. I don’t know… I’m not sure where they’ll do it. They may do it in Montreal [Elimination Chamber] or save it for Mania.”

It is clear that WWE intends to book a third match between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley. They may look to cash in on the interest in this feud right now and book it for the Survivor Series. They can also play the long game. Let the anticipation build with the two colliding at an even bigger stage next year at WrestleMania.
