Kurt Angle is an athlete who has made his name in both amateur wrestling and pro-wrestling. He has won a gold medal in amateur wrestling in the 1996 Olympics. Vince McMahon signed Angle in 1998 into WWE. He trained at WWE and made his debut in November 1999 at Monday night RAW.

Kurt Angle became a legend over the years in pro wrestling. Now, after retirement, he is busy in his venture in nutrition and also spends time with his family. After a divorce from his first wife in 2008, Angle married Giovanna Yannotti in 2012. 

Recently Giovanna recalled the story of how she met Kurt Angle on her new podcast, The Wives of Wrestling. The podcast is hosted by Randy Orton’s wife, Kim Orton, and Giovanna herself.

Giovanna is an actress who used to do minor roles. Her best friend’s dad called her for a minor role in the movie End Game, which also had Kurt Angle as a lead. There she saw Kurt Angle for the first time. 

She said, “All of the sudden this guy comes in and I not even joking. I still like Kim don’t you remember that moment when you met him. It was like yesterday. Whenever he walked in and I still remember. It was so funny because it was a church that turned into a restaurant.”

When did Kurt Angle and Giovanna talk for the first time?

Giovanna became friends with Kurt Angle’s friend and they both started hanging out. Both went to Arnold Classic in Angle’s car, which he wasn’t using it. While returning, they lost the keys and the spare keys were with Kurt Angle, who had already gone home. 

Giovanna’s mother went to Angle’s house for the spare key of his car and took his phone number for an emergency. She told Giovanna to contact him and tell him how does she feel about Angle.

Giovanna texted Angle asking him how he was doing. And Angle called her and said, ” Oh Giovanna. How are you doing? I am doing good. I am stuck in the house , just going through some crazy sh*t . But strangely I saved your mom’s number because I was gonna reach out to her to get your number”

It was a shock for Giovanna when she found out Kurt also wanted to contact her. In 2012, both got married and now have four kids together. Kurt Angle is living a happy family life now.
