The Tribal Chief recently surpassed the record of being the world champion for 1000 days at WWE’s latest pay-per-view event, Night of Champions. Reigns’ incredible feat prompted WWE tag team legend, Bubba Ray Dudley, to acknowledge his star power. During the recent edition of the Busted Open podcast, Dudlet put Reigns above top stars like Steve Austin, John Cena, The Undertaker, and even, The Rock.

“How much more you need to say … or how much more you need to know … Cena never got close to a 1000 days … Austin never got close to a 1000 days … Rocky never got close to a 1000 days … the Prodigal Son, Triple H never got close to a 1000 days … The Undertaker, Mankind, yada yada … never got close to a 1000 days … why Roman Reigns?”

Bubba continued: “One side of the pencil gets you to a 1000 days, the other side of the pencil doesn’t get you to a 1000 days … why Roman … because Roman is the guy.”

Indeed, Bubba said it right. Despite being legendary figures, none has achieved what Roman Reigns has in WWE.

The WWE Champion is the biggest star of this era

It is not how you did it. What matters is you did it. That will always remain true in Roman Reigns’ case. Despite being criticized for his run as champion, there is no denying the fact that he is perhaps the biggest star of the modern era. Bubba Ray also recalled his conversation from 2016 with WWE Executive Chairman, Vince McMahon.

The Boss told him that Roman will be his flagship star for the next 10 years.

“Bubba … Roman is the guy who is putting food on our table for the next 10 years. That was the moment in time I knew … this is the guy.”
