Hollywood megastar Dwayne Johnson is having a great streak of giving mega-hit movies. However, before transitioning to Tinseltown, ‘The Rock’ had a great WWE career. But his early wrestling career wasn’t as great.

Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Koko B. Ware appeared for an interview on Under the Mat Radio. He told the host Evan ‘Tech’ Prout about Dwayne Johnson being worried and depressed about his pro-wrestling career and thinking about quitting.

The WWE Legend said, “When the Rock came down here from Miami he was a big, pretty, good looking young man and he was so depressed about not making no money in the wrestling business. When they had him down there in Memphis, Tennessee he was starving to death and one night he was stretched out on the couch and said I’m going to go get me a real job…”.

The Original Birdman added, “…I told him Dewey keep working out and go to New York (WWE). Dewey said I know but my dad already been up there and burnt all bridges and I told him Dewey you get a change go up there you ain’t like your dad they going to treat you like your dad go up there and keep your mouth closed…”

Ware knew ‘The Rock‘ since he was a child. Johnson used to ride with ‘The Birdman’ when they would go to the Memphis Territory. The 8-time WWE Champion knew many great wrestlers since he was a child because his whole family was in the wrestling business.

There is no doubt that Koko. B. Ware’s advice helped Johnson make a name in the wrestling business as he went on to become one of the biggest WWE superstars. Furthermore, his stardom and hard work helped his popularity transcend the wrestling business.
