“You Are the Most Unsafe Professional Wrestler”: Cody Rhodes Went Berserk at AEW Opponent After Mistake Ended With Him Getting 12 Staples to His Head

Cody Rhodes is arguably one of the best pro wrestlers in the industry. His eventful return to WWE last year was one of the most talked about moments in the history of the company. However, he soon got injured but came stronger at Royal Rumble 2023 by winning the event.
Rhodes would then face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39 in a losing cause. But before he lost his momentum, The American Nightmare got involved in a heated rivalry with Brock Lesnar. However, similarly back during his days in AEW, he had another such heated rivalry.
In AEW, Rhodes worked as a pro wrestler, as well as playing the role of the VP of the company. During his time in AEW, he had several major rivalries, including one with former WWE superstar, Shawn Spears. Recently, during an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Spears would reveal an incident during his match with Rhodes, that saw a different side of him.

Spears claimed that during their match, Rhodes had asked him to hit with a chair, but when the chair shot went wrong, and Rhodes burst open, he was not in a good mood. The 42-year-old revealed that Rhodes would go berserk at him after the match, and insulted him.

Rhodes is one of the most professional and safest pro wrestlers. However, after Spears’ chair shot went wrong, and Rhodes started bleeding, which required 12 staples. He became extremely unhappy with Spears. Spears himself felt guilty for that and even approached Rhodes backstage for apologizing.

However, the 37-year-old would have an outburst aimed at Spears and berate him. Spears claimed that Rhodes said the following, “You are the most unsafe professional wrestler I have ever seen in my life.”

Shawn Spears further said, “He starts just bursting my b***s. I’m like, ‘you can’t. You don’t understand where I am right now. I’m at having a hard time.’ And he goes, ‘I am having a hard time too. I am having a hard time getting stitches put in my head.’ “

However, this incident helped them build their rivalry more and enter All-Out 2019 with more momentum than before. Rhodes would win their bout at All-Out 2019, with current AEW World Champion MJF by his side.
However, let bygones be bygones because The American Nightmare currently has one of the biggest and fiercest challenges of his lifetime in front of him. He is scheduled to face Brock Lesnar at Backlash 2023.
